For me, clay is deeply captivating material which has truly unlimited possibilities. Any object or creature can be created in clay; a feeling or emotion can be translated in clay piece. Reflecting on this matter makes me feel inner freedom and almost magical power of creation. The very process of working in clay is deeply satisfying. I feel succeeded if the finished piece looks less man-made, less artificial and more natural-born and self-developed. Then it starts its own life and speaks to a viewer in its own way.

In terms of techniques, I use throwing, altering and carving as well as freehand figurative modeling. I’m drawn to exploration of contrasts in material and surface over integral consistent form.
